Not really, according to the dictionary, a niche is a specialized but profitable corner of the market. If you needed brain surgery, you would not go to a chiropractic specialists. Same thing when people are looking online, if they wanted to know how to buy fireplace sets, they wouldn’t go to a turtle site.
A niche is a distinct segment of the market, your audience.

A niche is a group of people
Remember all those people looking for a specialized niche, well if your niche is too broad, you will lose out on them. There are millions of people looking for the smallest of niche.
Ovoid being too broad with your topic and try to narrow it down to a specific group. Having your topic targeted to what they are looking for will be important to reaching those millions of viewers.
Find your direction
Find your direction and stick with it, you should have a tunnel vision of your topic and not a scatter brained approach. A focus on one subject is important to success so once you find your niche, stick with it. Find out everything you can about that one subject will keep you from being sidetracked and that will cost you money.
A few things I learned from Wealthy Affiliate about niches
(1) You are going to be writing content within your niche
(2) You are going to be communicating within your niche
(3) You are going to be choosing products to promote within your niche
(4) You need to enjoy helping people within your niche.
(5) Your first niche PROBABLY won’t be your last (so don’t worry about it being perfect)
(6) Any niche can become a “full time” successful business
There is a lot that you can do with one niche so don’t overestimate the potential of one niche. Once that niche starts making you money, you can sub-contract it out and start working on another. In that order, I know how tempting it can be to go after those get rich quick schemes and that will blow your whole business out of proportion.
