Product Name: Amsoil
Overall Ranking: 6 out 0f 10
Price: 15 – 30 plus shipping
Owners: Al Amatuzio

My Opinion

When I first saw the name, I was thinking to myself, what the hell is this? I’m used to nutritional, skin care or services mlms, not oil companies. Turns out this is a very legitimate company that sells quality vehicle oils, they only use part of the MLM strategy to sell their product.

And when I say part, I mean, you actually make money off of the product itself, not through recruiting. You can sell by yourself or you can build a team of sellers, you’re choice. It’s still based out of effort through selling, not recruiting.

I have always given MLM companies bad ratings, but this company actually deserves a better rating with a quality product and a legit business opportunity. You don’t need to fill your garage full of stuff just to make quota, you work the business the way you feel it needs to be done.

Amsoil Inc was found by Al Amatuzio back in 1972. This person was a fighter pilot with an extensive knowledge of synthetic oils and very dedicated to providing high-quality oils which resulted in the creation of this company in Wisconsin.

They bought the first API-rated synthetic motor oil in the world and since then have widening their products to synthetic lubricating oils for all types of engines as well as fuel additives, filtration systems, and other products that extend lubricant performance.

A shout out to all of those grease monkeys out there, synthetic oil is definitely the way to go when it comes to motor performance. This company has a very good reputation of providing good products.

Compensation plan

Another reason I give this company a good rating is that of its simplistic compensation plan. Every time you are introducing someone to a business opportunity, the last thing you need is a complicated business plan.

Direct Sales

The only thing you need to know about this one is that the more you sell the higher your commission rate will be. To use an example, you will start off with a 2% commission rate for 100 credits and raise it to 25% with 5000 credits.

Each Product in the catalog has a set number of credits. To be able to open an Amsoil dealership,  you need to either buy the 6-month package which is $15 or the 1-year package which is $30. Talk about a very cheap intro price.

Build your downline ( Sponsor new dealers)

This is the second way to make money with Amsoil and it’s also where part of the MLM strategy is used.

For everyone you get on board with you and the people they bring in as well will form a group. Once your group is big it will look like the branch of a tree. As your group grows bigger, you will add more branches to your tree.

The compensation is not built on how many you recruit but by how much credits your group accumulates. The more credits, the more money your group makes.

Quality product
Great reputation
Easy to follow compensation plan

It’s not free to refer, though the price is cheaper than other MLM companies
You will have to have or obtain some “one on one” selling skills

If working on cars is your thing, this just might be the company you want to work with. Even if it’s just to have access to their quality products, why not sell them on the side. With no quota limit and a cheap introductory price, if you know your cars, why not.

I personally would just take my car to Oil Can Henry and have them decide, but that’s me.

The training and support are not free, though you might find training somewhere else for free. The price of their training and support is $50. It’s a one time fee and very small as compared to other opportunities.

I will state it again, for a 6-month trial, it will cost you $15. If you want to pay for a year, that will cost you 30. Any training from them that you want will cost $50.

Even though I give this company a good rating because of its simplistic compensation plan, plus if I was a car mechanic, I might even consider it myself. With a good reputation, good product, this business is a very legit opportunity.

My recommendation is to start your own business promoting something that you love. Have your own website and write your own content. Perhaps you can promote this company on your website, with affiliate marketing, the skies the limit.

  1. I didn’t know they had an MLM program at all. See their product at the store all the time. Would be a pretty good gig if I had some mechanic contacts to peddle the product through. Thanks for the information man, always like seeing ways to try to make a living outside the box of wake up go punch in, punch out, go to bed.

    1. No problem, I didn’t know either. Seems to be a very legit business opportunity though if your into those things.
