Thank you for those visiting and the ones who follow my articles on a consistent basis. You guys are what makes Online Marketing possible.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is essential to any Online Business, some people call it your list while others call it your followers.  I call it a way to reach out those who have similar interests on a weekly basis. Most of us hard working people don’t have the time to browse the internet, looking for information that could help us, but we can follow along through email that is just a click away.

Some of you older folks might remember the coined phrase, “You got Mail!” by AOL. I think a movie was made about it even. Though AOL has fallen by the wayside, that phrase still sticks with us to this day.

Check out my #1 recommendation for Online Marketing

AWEBER

Aweber was started by Tom Kulzer in 1998 as an email marketing platform that all businesses, small and large, could make use of. Sending and receiving emails to their loving fans. Aweber has over 700 templates that you can choose from to form your email with.

Among several good email companies, Aweber boasts about inventing the autoresponder with emails. An auto-responder is a software that responds with an email that you wrote to every new subscriber. This is a great feature for those who have over 300 subscribers signing up ever month, but for those of you who are new, I recommend sending out emails manually. I believe it gives it a more personable touch.

Responsive feature

Aweber has a unique feature that keeps it update in terms of competing with its other fellow email marketing companies like MailChimp and Mad  Mini. Having its emails Responsive means that they automatically resize themselves to suit the device they’re being viewed on. Like I always say, everyone and their dog owns a smartphone these days and so this feature makes sense.

PROS/CONS

PROS

  • It’s easy to use
  • It’s reasonably priced
  • It has 700 templates to choose from
  • Email templates are Responsive
  • It has a very good support system in place

Cons

  • It’s only free for 30 days
  • Some of the templates are outdated
  • The auto-responder is a bit on the basic side
  • The RSS to email templates look awful

{A list of the pros/cons of the product}

WHO IT IS FOR

This program is for the advanced user in my opinion, for those of you who are just starting out, check out my review of MailChimp. When you have 300 people signing up on a monthly basis, you will need to pay for a good email service. For those of us who are building a business on a bootstrap budget, MailChimp overs a free service that helps you get up to that point where you can pay for quality services like Aweber.

TRAINING/TOOLS OVERVIEW

Aweber provides free webinars and tutorials that will help you in creating campaigns that will succeed. They also offer a split testing service that helps you determine what works and what doesn’t

SUPPORT

Their support is one of the features that is constantly talked about over the internet. Phone support, email support, and live chat support are all available – this compares very favorably with some key competitors including Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor and Mad Mimi, who only offer email support. If you need help, there are no hoops to go through, everything is straight forward.

PRICE

They offer a free 30-day trial to help you determine whether their service is for you or not.

There are 6 Aweber plans on offer:

  • Hosting and emailing a list containing up to 500 subscribers: $19 per month
  • 501 to 2,500 subscribers: $29 per month
  • 2,501 to 5,000 subscribers: $49 per month
  • 5,001 to 10,000 subscribers: $69 per month
  • 10,001 to 25,000 subscribers: $149 per month
  • 25,000+ subscribers: call Aweber for quotation

FINAL OPINION/VERDICT

In my opinion, if you don’t have any subscribers yet, I wouldn’t even try the free trial just yet. Check out MailChimp first to get your feet wet and once your subscribers start skyrocketing, I would start looking into Aweber. I’ve tried their service and have considered them to be very good at what they do.

  1. Great review of Aweber, you have covered it very well.
I personally use Aweber myself for my marketing and find it easy to use and very robust.
I did use it from a zero subscriber base though and after the free trial, $19 a month does add up.
Now I have a healthy list it’s not so bad, but if I was starting over again I would probably do as you mentioned and start with Mailchimp.
Certainly noy=t unhappy with Aweber though, it is a good option 🙂

    1. Thank you for sharing your experience with this product and yes Aweber is a very good tool to use for your email marketing strategies. Mailchimp is great when starting off, but you start building a big list, aweber has features that will make your marketing better
