Email Marketing

Another wording for email marketing is providing something valuable to someone who wants it. They’ve clicked on your email list and want to hear what you have to say. So now you need to develop trust and loyalty.download-27

Trust and loyalty is earned through providing relevant information that will make their lives worthwhile. Do not sell to them because no one likes to be sold to regardless of how long they have been with you. Your to develop relationships that will last.

Do not be that pesky salesman that everyone slams the door on because unlike a physical door, a virtual door will never open again. Here are some free email marketing tips, you can thank me later.

How it works

You’ve got a web form like this

A visitor may land on your website, find your information valuable and will want to learn more. They add their email and select subscribe.

Almost instantly they will get a confirmation in their email box to verify, a 2 stop verification. They click and an email gets sent to them, welcoming them.

Free and Paid  email marketing companies

My advice when you are first starting up, never pay for a service until you have consistent traffic coming to your website. Once you have traffic coming to your site that is making you money, you can afford to pay for a service which will provide automation.download-28

Note of caution, when you do sign up for a free service, keep an eye on your email by making sure they don’t get dumped into spam.

Tips on writing effective email campaignsimages-7

Write an engaging title

You enter a coffee shop and meet someone for the first time. You’re not going to say, “I’ve got something to sell you.” That will turn them off as they slowly make excusing to try to sneak away.

A good title should be helpful and made like your greeting your new best friend. Example,”How was your weekend? I’ve got some great ideas on email marketing.”

Write in the second person.

Writing in the second person means using the pronouns “you,” “your,” and “yours.” For example, “Before you leave in the morning, remember to bring your jacket.” It means you write towards the reader, not yourself.

Write with relevant

Be mindful of what season or the day your writing in, that’s very important when connecting with your audience. I wrote a page on content creation that is completely relevant to email marketing as well.

Make it personable

You’re chatting up with an old friend, getting current with distant relatives. However you want to look at it, think to yourself, how would I receive it.

  1. Hey Nathan,

I have always heard the best way to sell something is not to sell it. I know kind of sounds weird. But, it works. I jus try to keep my landing pages conversational. Never have “you need to buy this.” It’s only there for a limited time.

Also, I have been using MailChimp for 4 years now. Love it. It’s very easy to use. I constantly update my messages. However, I was wondering if you had any advice to help increase your CTR for your emails?
